I drew inspiration for this year's baskets from my 94 year old Gram, an amazing and beautiful woman wtih a strong gentle spirit, hard working and willing to do what needs to be done. Her hands have aged with the years she had toiled, working alongside her husband as a farmers wife;cooking, cleaning and raising their six children. Organic was a way of life for my family as most of the food on the table was raised or grown on the farm. Fun and carefree memories of those childhood days flood back; catching salamanders, wildflower walks with Gran, walking the cows up to the day pasture with Gramp and sitting at the kitchen table having a fashion show, cutting out the newest fashions from the Sears Catalog. One of my favorite memories was waking up to the smell of fresh coffee and breakfast cooking on the wood stove. Food always seemed a bit tastier up on the farm.
